Our client is a fast-scaling multinational enterprise operating in over 20 countries, delivering next-generation solutions in technology, mobility, app-based services, and e-commerce. As they expand into Vietnam, they are seeking a founding Chief of People / HR Director to establish and lead the People function from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the talent, culture, and operational backbone of a global business from Day One in a brand-new market.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy & Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to country leadership in organizational design, change management, and cultural development
  • Translate global people strategy into localized, actionable HR plans aligned with Vietnam’s labor market dynamics and business priorities
  • Build and lead a high-performing HR team covering talent acquisition, people operations, employee experience, and compliance

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Scaling

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment strategy, ensuring speed and quality in hiring across both white-collar and blue-collar roles
  • Drive mass recruitment campaigns and talent pipelines that support business hyper-growth, particularly in tech, logistics, operations, and support functions
  • Develop employer branding and candidate experience to position the company as a top employer in Vietnam

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Set up and continuously improve core HR systems, policies, and processes, ensuring scalability and compliance with Vietnam labor laws and regulations
  • Manage payroll, benefits, employee relations, and workplace compliance
  • Oversee reporting, audits, and risk management in collaboration with global HR and legal teams

Culture & Organizational Development

  • Champion and shape the company’s culture, embedding values through all stages of the employee lifecycle
  • Drive onboarding, engagement, retention, and performance frameworks
  • Support leadership development and build internal capabilities in line with future business needs

Qualifications & Profile

  • 10+ years in progressive HR leadership, with at least 5 years in a Director-level role
  • Proven experience scaling HR operations in fast-growing, dynamic environments (tech, logistics, e-commerce, or mobility preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of Vietnam labor law, HR compliance, and local employment practices
  • Strategic mindset with a roll-up-your-sleeves execution style—willing to build systems and teams from scratch
  • Strong leadership presence, cross-cultural communication skills, and a passion for people and impact
  • Fluent in Vietnamese and English
